Pre-School: 2 years to Pre-K, including VPK

Classes incorporate hands-on learning tailored into a fun environment with empasis on reading, writing and mathematics.  Specific large motor skills are developed by activities which encourage movement with music, rhythm and dance.  Additional exercise and "fun-damentals" are experienced through outdoor play in the preschool playground.  Pre-writing, cutting, pasting, lacing, shoe tying and "clay-play" are developed during daily table activities.  The phonics based pre-reading program involves following directions, letter recognition, sequencing and visual recognition skills.  Early math is introduced by counting, number recongnition, matching, the concept of greater or lesser and sequencing.  Computer time daily reinforces lessons taught during classtime.

Elementary School: Grades Kindergarten- 4

Reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies are taught by traditional methods and reinforced in the school's state of the art computer lab.  Physical education, library science, music, art and Spanish round out the phonics-based curriculum.  Monthly field trips complement classroom lessons with a special year-end trip planned around the 3rd and 4th grade curricula.

Middle School: Grades 5 - 8

Language Arts, math, science, social studies, communications and organizational skills are the focus in Middle School.  Teaching is departmentalized, each teacher being a specialist in one or more subjects.  In computer lab, students are introduced to modern business methods, which are reinforced through classroom lectures and project assignments.  Physical education, art,  music/drama, Spanish and life skills enhance the Middle School curriculum.  Field trips are designed to introduce students to cultural events and plays.  Area museums are also visited.  Year end trips are planned and partially funded by student driven fund raisers throughout the year.  Double R Middle School students have traveled to Space Camp, Sea Camp, Williamsburg (Va.), Washington D.C., St. Augustine, and Boston (Ma.). 

Camp Eagle Summer Camp: Ages 2-12 

Our summer camp program provides a fun-filled environment for campers.  Campers enjoy indoor/outdoor activities such as board games, crafts, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and kickball.  We have an on-site swimming pool and swim instructors that provide campers with formal swimming instruction and supervised free swim time.  Weekly field trips are included. Summer school classes, tutoring and enrichment are also available. 

KIDS ABROAD INTERNATIONAL 

 The Double R Private School sponsors various foreign travel programs.  Double R Private Shool students have traveled to Germany, Austria, Hungary, Belgium, Great Britain and Italy.  Trained and experienced staff members accompany these tour groups. Students have come from Canada, Venezuela, France, Puerto Rico and Hungary.  They participate in language classes on campus and travel to local attractions.
